Christmas Break

Tick tock tick tock. The clock ticks with relentless slowness, the second hand inching closer to the twelve; it is only a matter of moments. Tick tock. With an electrifying noise, the bell rings, breaking the silence of the cold, tense classroom. Children pop out of their seats, sending papers flying across the room, wishings of 'Merry Christmas' and 'Happy Holidays' filling the air. Exams...complete. School...half way through. Christmas Break...at last.
I said far too many goodbyes today, especially to those who are not coming back for the second semester. It wasn't the final sense of goodbye like summer, but to many, it was just as rough. But as for the rest of our school, happiness was a bubbling, overflowing excitement greeted with cheers and smiles.
With the end of school comes a sense of peace. No studying, no homework (for most of us!), and no school. Freedom to do whatever we want with the next few weeks.
And also, that insanely exciting, jubilant, ecstatic anticipation of the greatest holiday of them all: Christmas! A day of joy and singing, Christmas cheer, and love...especially to the One who matters most. A celebration of His birth, and our peace.
Merry Christmas!
